Monsoon 2023 Convective Inhibiting Sounding Example
Not what you want to see during the monsoon season (see graphic)! This morning's Phoenix, Arizona, weather balloon launch (also called a sounding) reveals important details about the state of the atmosphere, which in this case are hostile to thunderstorm formation at this time.
The very hot and dry start for Monsoon 2023 in Arizona looks to continue for at least another week.
